December 2025: Rebuilt Keyword Discovery + API Access

New Keyword Discovery with Search Volume Upfront

What changed: We completely rebuilt our Keyword Discovery feature based on your feedback. The old experience required you to spend additional credits just to unlock search volume data. That’s gone. Now you get search volume, trend data, and CPC information upfront with every search.

Why it matters: You no longer waste credits on keywords you’ll never use. You can evaluate keyword potential immediately and make informed decisions about which keywords to cluster.

We also doubled the average number of keywords per search from around 2,000 to 4,000 giving you more opportunities to find content gaps.

Introducing Keyword Lists

What it does: Keyword Lists is a dedicated feature that lets you manage all your keywords in one place for each workspace. You can create new lists, add keywords to existing lists, edit them, filter out irrelevant terms, and send them for clustering with a single click.

Why it matters: Before this, you had to manage keywords across multiple reports or external spreadsheets. Now everything lives in one organized system. You can refine your keyword sets before clustering, which means cleaner results and less manual cleanup later.

AI Writer Agent API

What it does: Our AI Writer Agent is now available via API, allowing you to integrate our content generation capabilities directly into your own workflows, tools, or automation systems.

Why it matters: If you’re managing content at scale or building custom SEO tools, you can now programmatically generate content briefs and drafts without leaving your own platform. This opens up automation possibilities for agencies and enterprise teams.

November 2025: User Journey Mapping + Intent Alignment

User Journey Mapping (TOFU/MOFU/BOFU)

What it does: Every cluster is now automatically categorized into one of three funnel stages: Top of Funnel (TOFU), Middle of Funnel (MOFU), or Bottom of Funnel (BOFU). The system evaluates your business context, the cluster itself, and detected search intent to assign the right stage.

Why it matters: Understanding where a keyword sits in the customer journey changes how you approach content. TOFU keywords are about awareness and education. Users aren’t ready to buy yet. MOFU keywords show comparison behavior, users are evaluating options. BOFU keywords signal purchase intent, users are ready to convert.

With this feature, you can quickly filter clusters by funnel stage and prioritize content that aligns with your marketing goals. For example, if you’re building brand awareness, you can filter for TOFU + Informational intent to find educational content opportunities.

Filter Clusters by Intent Mismatch

What it does: You can now filter clusters where the dominant search intent doesn’t match the intent of the top-ranking URL. For example, if the dominant intent is informational but your ranking page is transactional, you’ll see a mismatch.

Why it matters: Intent misalignment is one of the most common reasons pages don’t rank well. If users are searching for “how to choose running shoes” (informational) but you’re ranking a product page (transactional), you’re not satisfying their intent. This filter helps you identify those gaps quickly so you can create the right type of content.

AI Writer Agent Stability Improvements

What changed: We improved how the AI Writer Agent generates article introductions. The output now has more varied word choice, paragraph length, and topic exploration. We also removed em and en dashes to make the content feel less AI-generated.

Why it matters: AI-generated content often has telltale patterns that make it obvious it wasn’t written by a human. By improving variety and removing mechanical formatting quirks, the content reads more naturally and is less likely to be flagged by readers or search engines.

November 2025: Competitor Visibility Export (30X Cost Savings)

Export Competitor Visibility Data Directly

What it does: You can now export all competitor visibility data directly from your clustering reports. We automatically analyze the top 30 competitors for every cluster, and you can download their full cluster data for comparison.

Why it matters: Other clustering tools make you re-run entire orders with competitor URLs, which costs 30X more in credits. We give you full competitor visibility automatically. This means you can analyze what your competitors are ranking for, identify content gaps, and build competitive presentations without spending extra credits.

AI Writer Agent with Smart CTAs

What it does: The AI Writer Agent now automatically adds keyword-relevant and business-relevant calls-to-action (CTAs) to your drafts. The CTAs are tailored to your topic and workspace context.

Why it matters: A great article without a CTA is a missed opportunity. By automatically suggesting CTAs that align with your business and the topic, you’re more likely to convert readers into leads or customers. This is especially useful for agencies managing multiple clients, each workspace gets contextually relevant CTAs.

Markdown (MD) Export

What it does: You can now export AI Writer Assistant drafts and content briefs as Markdown (.md) files.

Why it matters: Markdown is the standard format for modern CMS platforms, static site generators (like Hugo or Jekyll), and Git-based workflows. Exporting to Markdown means you can publish content directly to your CMS without reformatting, version control your content in Git, and automate your content pipeline. It’s a huge time-saver for technical SEO teams and developers. You can also use MD files as part of your automation workflows effortlessly.

October 2025: Automatic Irrelevant Cluster Detection

Smarter Clustering with Irrelevant Cluster Detection

What it does: When you run a clustering report, our system now analyzes your results using your workspace context to identify and tag irrelevant clusters before you even review them. For example, if your workspace is about “fashion modeling” but the report includes clusters like “financial modeling” or “modeling clay,” those are automatically flagged as irrelevant.

Why it matters: Large keyword reports with tens of thousands of keywords often return clusters that have nothing to do with your business. Before this feature, you had to spend hours manually cleaning lists and removing irrelevant topics. Now it happens automatically, saving you hours of work and letting you focus only on clusters that matter.

Revamped Export System (40+ Columns)

What changed: We completely overhauled the export experience. The old system struggled with large datasets and Google Sheets row limits. The new system lets you export up to 40+ data columns in CSV, Google Sheets, or Excel format without limitations.

Why it matters: As we added more features, the export sheet grew from 10 columns to over 40. The old system couldn’t handle it. The new export is faster, more stable, and built for scale. You can now export massive datasets smoothly and integrate them into your own workflows or scripts.

Intent Detection for Ranking URLs

What it does: You now see the detected intent for all ranking URLs within a cluster, not just the dominant intent. This lets you check if your existing page truly satisfies user intent or if another page you own aligns better.

Why it matters: Search intent drives everything. If your page matches the dominant intent but you’re still not ranking, the problem is likely technical SEO, backlinks, or content quality. But if your page doesn’t match the intent, you need to create new content or update the existing page. This feature helps you diagnose the root cause faster.

Author Tone of Voice

What it does: You can now train an AI voice model based on a specific author. Upload at least five articles written by that author, and the AI Writer Agent will mimic their unique writing style and tone.

Why it matters: Generic AI content sounds generic. If you want content that sounds like your brand or a specific expert, you need to train the model on their writing. This is especially valuable for agencies managing multiple clients or brands that want to maintain a consistent voice across all content.

September 2025: Social Sources Detection (Get Seen in LLMs)

Detect Reddit, YouTube, and Quora in SERPs

What it does: When you run a clustering report, the output now highlights if your keywords trigger social links like Reddit, YouTube, or Quora in the top 10 search results.

Why it matters: According to a study by Statista in collaboration with Semrush, Reddit was cited in around 40% of analyzed LLM responses. YouTube followed with 23.5%, and Quora came in at 4.6%. If you want your brand to show up in models like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, you need to be mentioned on these platforms.

This feature gives you a practical way to identify which keywords trigger social results, so you can join those conversations and get your brand mentioned in the places that matter for LLM visibility.

Workspaces

What it does: Workspaces is the foundation of Keyword Insights. You can now link domains to your account so everything, clustering reports, keyword lists, content briefs, is tied to a specific domain. This unlocks personalized reporting, keyword management, and context-aware features.

Why it matters: Before Workspaces, Keyword Insights treated every project as standalone. Now you can organize your work by domain, which means better context for AI-generated content, more accurate irrelevant cluster detection, and easier multi-client management for agencies.

Content Priority Score

What it does: A custom metric that ranks clusters from 1 to 5 based on your business context. Clusters with higher scores have the highest likelihood of driving conversions.

Why it matters: Not all keywords are created equal. Some have high search volume but low commercial intent. Others have low volume but high conversion potential. The Content Priority Score helps you focus on clusters that matter most to your business, so you’re not wasting time on keywords that won’t move the needle.

Google Search Console Integration

What it does: You can now connect your Google Search Console account to link performance data with your clustering reports.

Why it matters: This integration lets you see which clusters you’re already ranking for, identify content gaps, and prioritize updates based on real performance data. Your GSC data is never sold or shared with third parties, it’s only used to enhance your Keyword Insights experience.

123 Languages & Locations

What changed: Workspaces now support 123 languages and locations. If a feature doesn’t support your selected language, you’ll see a warning letting you know.

Why it matters: Global SEO requires localized keyword research. By supporting 123 languages, we’re making it easier for international teams to build topical authority in their target markets.

August – July 2025: Performance & Platform Improvements

August: Performance & Stability Updates

We shipped various performance improvements and bug fixes to enhance the overall user experience. These updates focused on making the platform faster and more reliable, especially for large clustering reports.

July: Content Brief Improvements & Affiliate Program

Content Brief Improvements: We enhanced content brief generation with better topic coverage and competitor analysis. Briefs now include more actionable insights and clearer structure recommendations.

Writer Assistant Updates: Improved AI Writer Assistant with better outline generation and content suggestions, making it easier to create comprehensive content from scratch.

Affiliate Program Launch: We re-launched our affiliate program, allowing you to earn commissions by referring new users to Keyword Insights.

If you’re an agency or content creator, this is a great way to monetize your audience while helping them discover a tool that actually works.

Our top affiliates are earning anything from $500-$1500 month.

June – April 2025: API Updates & Competitor Heatmaps

June: API Documentation & Platform Stability

We released comprehensive API documentation updates with new endpoints and examples. This makes it easier for developers to integrate Keyword Insights into their own tools and workflows.

May: Clustering Algorithm Updates & Filter Presets

Clustering Algorithm Updates: We improved clustering accuracy with better keyword grouping and intent detection. This means more accurate clusters and less manual cleanup.

Pre-configured Filter Presets: We added pre-made filters for common use cases. Whether you’re identifying quick wins, commercial content ideas, or content gaps, the right filters are applied instantly. This saves you time and makes it easier to find actionable insights.

April: Competitor Topic Heatmaps

What it does: See how the top 20 ranking competitors are optimizing their content across the most important topics. The heatmap gives you a bird’s-eye view of competitor strengths and weaknesses.

Why it matters: Instead of manually analyzing competitor content, you can instantly spot gaps in your content strategy. If competitors are covering a topic heavily and you’re not, that’s an opportunity. If you’re covering a topic but competitors aren’t, that’s a potential advantage.

We launched our private SEO community for Keyword Insights users. Connect with other SEO professionals, share insights, ask questions, and get support from both the community and our team.
